About the Event: A One-Night-Only Special Event, benefiting Queens Theatre. A Broadway hit that began its journey at Queens Theatre. Douglas Lyons’ Chicken & Biscuits — a hilarious, heartfelt play about a family reunion gone delightfully off the rails — returns for a star-studded one-night-only celebration. The play had its world premiere on our stage in early 2020, just days before the pandemic shut theaters down. But even then, the magic was undeniable. 

Queens Theatre believed in this story and its playwright, proudly supporting its development and giving it its first home. That early spark lit the way to Broadway, where Chicken & Biscuits made history and has since become a national favorite. What started here is now a celebrated theatrical success, with more than 40 productions across the nation — and we’re honored to welcome it back to where it all began for this special staged reading you won’t want to miss!
