About the Event: Peter and the Wolf is a timeless folk tale set to music that has enchanted audiences since its premiere on May 2, 1936, in Moscow. This beloved symphonic work introduces children to classical music and the distinct sounds of different orchestra instruments. Commissioned by Natalya Sats, director of the Central Children’s Theatre in Moscow, composer Sergei Prokofiev crafted this piece to inspire young minds. Peter and the Wolf remains Prokofiev’s most popular composition, celebrated for its enduring charm and educational value.
